Poplar Terrace

J.P. Shadley has been providing master planning and landscape architectural services at Poplar Terrace since 1994. Poplar Terrace is an historic 21-acre residential estate sited on a magnificent bluff overlooking the Ohio River. Mr. Shadley began this work with while he was at CRJA, and he has provided landscape Master Planning and full landscape architectural services for many completed construction projects. Work continues today with Shadley Associates on the refinements to the gardens within Poplar Terrace.

Some of the components of the Gardens at Poplar Terrace include three new fountains, a refurbished pool, two perennials gardens, a new motor court and entry garden, three new terraces. One of the most unusual aspects of the garden is the viewing terrace, or "perch", which is accessed via a stair from the main pool terrace. Separating the pool terrace from the perch is a 78'-long wrought iron sculpture called the "Vine Rail Fence".
