Fitzgerald Park

Fitzgerald Park is a classic vest pocket park. It rests in the shade of a parking garage, and provides a small oasis in the midst of a busy urban downtown center. Named for long term and beloved City employee David R. Fitzgerald, the park benefits from the support of a corporate citizen who funded the rehabilitation of the park and continues to maintain it years later.

The park has a contemporary layout with geometric pavement patterns and modern materials, yet the informal planting of shade trees and many ornamental flowers provide a comfortable lunchtime setting enjoyed by many of the local office workers. JP Shadley was a Principal at CRJA when he designed and managed the renovation of the park, which included new irrigation, lighting, fencing, site furnishings, expanded seating areas, and extensive new plantings.
