Howard Street and the Production Office Building

Shadley Associates recently worked for the Brown-Forman Corporation with project architects K. Norman Berry Associates and led the site design for the new streetscape and renovation of the historic Founder's Hall. The street is being narrowed and realigned to calm traffic and enhance the pedestrian emphasis of this part of the campus. The building is a 1940's, 24,000 square foot brick structure with handsome limestone features. The interior is being completely modernized.

The landscape architectural scope for the project includes the conceptual roadway realignment and full landscape architecture services including design, cost estimating, construction documents, and construction observation for all site improvements including new walks, a new plaza and a new dining terrace as well as extensive ornamental plantings and site furnishings.

The streetscape's new landscape design preserves many existing mature trees. Selection and placement of the new trees builds on the variety of species and informal rhythm of the existing trees, while complementing and strengthening the planting patterns.
