Nashua Landing

Shadley Associates is assisting New England Development, Packard Development and W/S Development Associates with the site design for a new 44-acre, 600,000 SF Lifestyle Center in Nashua, NH. The Lifestyle Center will be the first of its kind in New Hampshire. Located on the major retail corridor of Daniel Webster Highway near the Massachusetts border, the site includes a program of high-end retail boutiques, fine dining, grocery and entertainment uses.

The design for the site provides 1900 linear feet of high end streetscape which include generously wide sidewalks, specialty pavements, quality site furnishings and more than 170 street trees for ample shade. The streetscape will be a place for gathering, strolling, window shopping and outdoor dining. At the center of the streetscape is “Landing Square”, a pedestrian dominated raised plaza which will provide gathering spaces for small and large groups as well as open areas for programmable events, such as open air markets, holiday tree lightings and performances.

The landscape design uses New England native plant material with benches in shaded clusters amongst richly planted flower beds. Two mid-block pedestrian passageways connect the parking areas to the retail corridor, and act as pedestrian dominated “Green Pockets” along the streetscape. They include outdoor dining terraces, specialty lighting, and quality pavements and furnishings.
