JP Shadley provided site landscape design and construction administration for a 1/2 - acre area including three terraces at back of a stone Yankee farmhouse property while he was with another landscape architectural firm.

Rustic glacial boulder stone walls frame three separate areas within the garden; the upper terrace under the arbor at the guest house, the formal lawn panel, and the lower patio. This garden in the forest began with the concept of a foundation ruin, and included a small waterfall and stone paving for the patio space within the ruin. The clients for this project were deeply involved gardeners and did the planting design and construction themselves.
