Breeze Hill FarmBreeze Hill Farm is a 110-acre haven located in the heart of Kentucky's bluegrass landscape. When the clients first purchased the property, this lovely Federal style home was occupied by deer, owls, and farm machinery. Now, after more than twenty years of loving care, the home is restored to pristine condition, most of the landscape master plan has been implemented, and it grows more vibrant daily. JP Shadley began working on a Master Plan for the property while at CRJA in 1994, and continues to work on this lovely property.

Projects at Breeze Hill Farm have included extensive earth shaping, forestry maintenance and viewshed establishment, realignment of roads, refurbishment of the barn, a new 3-acre fishing pond, a swimming pool and gazebo, sitting and dining gardens near the house, a cedar log arbor, a perennial garden, a tall grass maze, stone walls, rock outcroppings and a rock waterfall, and thousands of plantings.

In general, the landscape around the house has been enriched and refined, with detail and elements for interest and comfort, while the greater bluegrass landscape surrounding the home domain has been left vast and spare, showcasing the hypnotic sway of uncut hay and the impossible length of shadows as they stretch across open lawns in late afternoon. Breeze Hill Farm has been published in landscape journals and won planning and design awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects.

In 2004, 420 acres of adjacent property were added to Breeze Hill Farm. Since then Shadley Associates has been providing Master Planning Services for the entire 530-acre area, including creation of alternative locations for a historic home which will be reassembled on this property.
